Oriental Darter

Also called the snakebird for its long neck. It dives after fish and often swims with most of the body underwater.

A long-necked fishing bird of wetlands and still water. Its feathers are semi-permeable, which helps underwater hunting but requires drying afterward.

Usually seen alone or in small groups. It is mostly resident, though local seasonal movements can occur.
